PowerMac, 10 Megs Ram available, 4x CDROM, System 7.5.3 or greater
Virtual Memory -
If you have to use VM we strongly recommend updating to System 7.5.5 or greater.
Extensions -
We've found that disabling extensions that are not needed by Creep Night can improve gameplay. If you have trouble playing Creep Night because of a lack of memory please see the MEMORY TROUBLESHOOTING section at the end of this file.
24-Bit Addressing Mode -
If you're currently running in 24-bit Addressing mode you'll need to switch to 32-bit Addressing mode for Creep Night to run. To do this, open your Memory Control Panel, switch the appropriate item and restart your computer.
Window Size -
Creep Night looks best at a resolution of 640x480. On PowerMac's you can size the window to your liking. If your main monitor is set to a higher resolution the game window will default to 640x480. PowerMac users can select Fullscreen from the options menu and enjoy fullscreen action. Selecting Normal Window will bring the window back to the default size.
Detail -
On 68k macs & macs with less than 10 Megs RAM available you may want to visit our Detail options screen from the preferences screen. Consult the On-Line Manual for full descriptions of the available options. 68K macs will not be able to play Digital Music, use 22khz/stereo sounds, or go to fullscreen mode.
On systems with less than 4x CDROMs, disabling the Digital Music option may produce smoother game action.
Known Problems -
On some Apple 4x CDROM drives we have encountered problems with Digital Music. If you find that the music seems to pause or stop on a frequent basis you may wish to turn Digital Music off. This problem seems to be limited to the shell and does NOT seem to affect game play.

MEMORY TROUBLESHOOTING --
Creep Night requires 5,500K of free memory. In order to have 5,500K of
free memory, you must have 8 MB of RAM installed on your Mac. Utilities
such as RAM Doubler or virtual memory will not serve as a substitute for
having 8 MB of physical RAM installed.
To determine the amount of RAM and the free memory on your Mac, do the
following: From the Apple pull-down menu, choose "About this
Macintosh...". The amount of RAM on your computer will be listed next to
"Built-In Memory". (If you do not have a "Built-In Memory" value, use
the amount listed next to "Total Memory".) This amount should be at
least 8,192K, which is equal to 8 MB. Once you have verified that you
have 8 MB of RAM, check your free memory. This will be listed as the
"Largest Unused Block". If this value is not at least 5500K, try the
following steps below.
Change your memory settings. From the Apple pull-down menu, choose
"Control Panels". From here, select the "Memory" module. In the memory
module, lower your disk cache to 32K and turn off your RAM disk and
virtual memory. Also, turn your 32-bit addressing on. Once you have done
this, you must restart your Mac for the changes to take effect.
Turn off your extensions and control panel devices. Extensions and
control panel devices (cdev's) load utilities on your system and use
memory that Creep Night needs. The unnecessary ones should be disabled
when the game is running. This can be done in two ways. Using Extensions
Manager is preferable; otherwise you will need to manually disable them.
If you have Extensions Manager installed on your computer, double-click
on its icon in the Control Panels section. To begin, click on the "All
Off" button. Now scroll through the list of items and select the ones
that you will need to play Creep Night. Choose EM Extension, Sound
Manager, and Apple CD ROM. (Note: You will also need to enable Quicktime
to view the video portions). Once you have done
this, click on the "Sets" pull-down menu. Choose "Save Set..." and enter
a name for this Creep Night extension set. With only the set for the
game selected, restart your Mac. Check your memory and try to play the
game. (For more information on using Extensions Manager, please see the
documentation for your system software or the readme file with Extensions Manager.)
If you do not have Extensions Manager, you will have to manually disable
extensions and cdev's. To do this, open the System Folder and create a
new folder called Backup. Go in to your Extensions folder and move all
of the items in it-except for Sound Manager and Apple CD-ROM-to the newly created Backup folder.
Now, go into your Control Panels folder and move all of the
items from it-except for Sound, Monitors and Memory-to the Backup
folder. After doing this, restart your Mac and play the game. CAUTION:
The items moved into the Backup folder will not be active until they are
returned to the Extensions folder and the computer is restarted. When
you are done playing the game, move all of the extensions and cdev's in
the Backup folder back to the System Folder. When the system asks to
"put them where they belong", choose OK and your system will be restored
